Congratulations to Rodney Nassiri, the new Associate Vice President for Facilities, Planning, and Management with Ball State University. Mr. Nassiri will provide strategic leadership, advance strategic initiatives, and oversee the University’s 788-acre campus—widely recognized for its beauty and sustainability while collaborating with the University’s Chief Sustainability Officer to further Ball State’s leadership in environmentally responsible campus management. Congratulations Rodney!

Summit would like to congratulate Dr. John Thabiti Willis on his appointment as the Inaugural Kesho Scott Endowed Chair in African Diaspora Studies with Grinnell College. Willis’ vision and leadership will be key to expanding this vital field of study at Grinnell College. His work as a scholar and teacher, which spans multiple African and African diasporic settings, and his significant experience creating study abroad opportunities for undergraduates, position him to build the new department through partnerships on and off campus. 

Congratulations to Jean-Nicolas Poirier, the new Executive Dean of the College of Chiropractic Education with Southern California University of Health Sciences.  SCUHS is a true leader in integrative and whole health education and is known for its commitment to academic excellence, evidence-based, interprofessional, patient-centered care. We know you will be a valuable asset as you bring so much experience to SCUHS!

Congratulations to Hila Shamon on starting her new role as the Inaugural Deputy Executive Director of Science/Chief Conservation Officer with Duke Farms! Her work will support the Doris Duke Foundation’s efforts to advance ideas that foster a creative, equitable, and sustainable future. 

Dr. Nancy Abashian will join Ball State University as the new Dean of University Libraries. She brings nearly two decades of leadership experience in academic libraries and is committed to fostering innovation, inclusion, and collaboration. Congratulations Nancy!

After an extensive national search, Lewis & Clark has appointed Alicia Ouellette as the next dean of Lewis & Clark Law School. Congratulations Alicia!

Summit extends its warm congratulations to Patrick Hardigan on his appointment as the new Dean of the College of Health Sciences at the University of Wyoming. Patrick, a proud UW alumni, brings with him extensive experience in health care education and research administration.

Congratulations to Kristen Cowan Cuthrell, the new Chair of the Department of Education and Human Development with Clemson University! Kristen is a nationally recognized leader and scholar in rural education who will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to her new post.

Summit would like to congratulate Kerry McPhail on her appointment as Chair of the Department of Medicinal Chemistry with the University of Utah. Bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role, having distinguished herself as a leader and innovator, Dr. McPhail is poised to lead the department to new heights of excellence.

Summit would like to congratulate Ian Walker on his new role as Department Head and Professor of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science with University of Wyoming. Walker’s goal is to continue the department’s already strong efforts in education, research and outreach, and expand its activities and impact within Wyoming and well beyond.

Congratulations to Elizabeth Votruba-Drzal on her new role as Director of the Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC) with University of Pittsburgh. Elizabeth  will be such an asset in this role of preserving and advancing a strong LRDC as the University continues to grow and develop.

Congratulations goes out to Mariela Srednik, a veterinary bacteriologist who will be leading the bacteriology laboratory group within the Department of Veterinary Sciences of the WSVL within the College of Agriculture, Life Sciences and Natural Resources at University of Wyoming.

Her leadership and management experience in veterinary diagnostic medicine in an academic setting is the right fit for WSVL.

With a career spanning 20 years in the library sector and a background in various roles within library and higher education settings, Mathuews brings a wealth of expertise to her new role.
