Lynne Texter has over 30 years of experience working in the higher education and nonprofit sectors, and she believes in the essential link between effective communication, building/maintaining relationships, and strong leadership. Lynne is committed to the alignment of the words and actions of organizations and individuals with institutional mission.
An experienced academic leader and award-winning educator with teaching experience in the U.S., Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Greece, Lynne teaches courses, facilitates trainings, and consults with higher education institutions and nonprofit organizations on a variety of areas, including leadership, relationship-building, effective workplace communication, and change management.
After 12 years as department chair, Lynne served as Associate Provost, interim Provost & Vice President of Academic Affairs, interim Dean of the School of Arts & Sciences, and Special Assistant to the President for Strategic Initiatives. She led the University’s academic response through COVID, in addition to leading the development and implementation of strategic planning initiatives in response to the structural issues, financial pressures, and shifts in enrollment patterns that powerfully impact higher education, in general, and tuition-dependent institutions, in particular.
She is passionate about the encouragement and support for on-going professional development, and she writes and presents about the benefits of stepping out of the comfort zone for learning and growth. She strives to challenge herself, both professionally and personally, and in addition to the leadership challenges she’s tackled, her other adventures include walking 120 miles of the Camino de Santiago in Portugal and Spain and a 50-day cross-country cycling trip from the Pacific Ocean in Astoria, OR to the Atlantic Ocean in Portsmouth, NH.
Lynne completed the Management Development Program at Harvard University, received her Ph.D. from the University at Buffalo, and earned her Master’s from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University. She lives in the Philadelphia area and is Associate Professor Emerita in the Department of Communication at La Salle University.
